ORANGE VELVET CAKE

2 ½  cups self-rising flour

1 cup buttermilk

1 ½  cups vegetable oil

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼  cup orange food coloring

1 1/2  cups sugar

1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon white vinegar

2 large eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray three 9-inch round cake pans with no-stick coating.

Combine all ingredients with electric mixer. Pour into prepared pans. Bake 15 minutes or until layers test done.

Cool in pans 10 minutes, then remove from pans and allow layers to cool completely before frosting.

FROSTING

1 ½  sticks softened butter

1 (1 pound) package confectioners' sugar .

  10 ounces cream cheese

   

Combine ingredients and beat until fluffy.
