VIRGINIA POUND CAKE
3 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup Crisco
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
Cream together sugar, butter and Crisco. Add
eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder
and salt and add alternately with milk. Beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and lemon
extract. Pour into Bundt or tube pan.
