White House Sugar Cookies

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

 What to do:

1. In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.

2. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.

3. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well.

4. Flatten dough onto a sheet pan lined with plastic wrap.

5. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.               .

6. Roll dough onto a floured pastry cloth and cut into shapes.

7. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until slightly golden-brown.
